Mass handling of parcels and display of last scan station in Workbench

Background

Workbench is the distribution leader tool where the distribution company can do the daily follow-up on parcel deviations. As the volume of parcels continues to rise, the existing solution demands considerable time and effort from distribution leaders, who process each parcel one by one.

Feature Overview

In response to this challenge, our latest feature aims to streamline and optimize the workflow, addressing the need for a more efficient and time-effective solution. This feature enables users to efficiently handle parcels in bulk within Workbench, providing a streamlined solution to the time-consuming process of individual parcel processing. This functionality is accessible to all users with current Workbench access and doesn't necessitate any additional permissions. Additionally, users can now easily access information about the last scan station of a parcel, further empowering them with valuable insight for effective management.

Key Deliverables

The key deliverables of this feature are:

  • Enable more efficient processing of parcels by allowing users to handle more than one parcel at once.

  • Efficiently manage either a specific set of parcels or all parcels along an entire route

  • View the latest Cargostream station where a parcel has been scanned. To provide valuable visibility into the parcel's recent handling.

How does it work

In the Workbench, you can now choose one or multiple parcels simply by ticking the checkboxes:

Alternatively, if you use the check symbol to select all parcels on a specific route:

When selecting one or more items, the "Update Status" button becomes visible. Upon clicking this button, you will encounter the same status options that appear when processing a parcel individually.

Please be aware that if you choose multiple product groups and select both outgoing and pickup parcels, you encounter an error message. In such cases, you won't be able to assign a new status to these parcels, because they are different.


Improvements in DI Control, Route Status

Complementing the introduction of new features in Workbench, we are delighted to highlight three improvements to Route Status in DI Control. These enhancements further enhance the functionality and effectiveness of the system, providing users with a more robust and comprehensive experience.

The improvements are:

  • As a distribution leader, the latest update ensures that upon entering the route status section, you will now be directed to view the status of all routes by default, rather than exclusively focusing on the delayed routes as it was previously. This enhancement aims to provide a more comprehensive overview, allowing you to effortlessly monitor the status of all routes for improved efficiency and convenience.

  • As a distribution leader, you will now experience a list sorted in the delivery sequence of parcels/returns rather than in alphabetical order. This improvement aligns with the familiar functionality found in the old route status in DI Main, providing a more intuitive and user-friendly experience for efficient route monitoring.

  • Addressing the specific needs of distribution leaders, the latest update facilitates the sorting of routes in the route status based on the "Timestamp" (Av. ferdig) column. This empowers users with the ability to organize routes according to completion time, offering a more customized and efficient experience.
