MAJOR UPGRADE: DI Optimize and Data Import moving to QGIS 4.2
We are officially moving from QGIS 3.44 to QGIS 4.2. This release updates both plugins for QGIS 4 and includes performance improvements and a fix for saved input mappings.
Breaking change: QGIS upgrade required
Why we are upgrading
QGIS 4 introduces a modern technical foundation based on Qt6, bringing performance and security improvements while keeping the overall QGIS experience familiar. QGIS 4.2 builds on this foundation with further performance optimizations and improvements to processing tools.
The upgrade also brings useful improvements for everyday work:
Double-click a feature in the attribute table to select it and zoom to its location.
Create custom menus and toolbars.
Open the Field Calculator directly from a column header, with that field already selected.
Add processing tools to custom menus and toolbars.
DI Optimize 3.0.0
Added support for QGIS 4.2.
Improved performance under the hood.
Fixed input mapping: custom field aggregation settings are now saved when storing a mapping.
Data Import 2.0.0
Added support for QGIS 4.2.
Improved performance under the hood.
How to upgrade
Install QGIS 4.2.2 or later.
Start the new QGIS version.
Both plugins must be installed again, even if you already have them installed in QGIS 3.44.
QGIS 4.2 uses a separate location for user settings. On first startup, it copies the loaded QGIS 3 user profile and settings into the new location. This migration happens once; later changes are not synchronized between QGIS 3 and QGIS 4.
