Removal of eBudbok access and reports
As part of the rollout of Buddy, we are continuing the transition away from eBudbok (EDG).
In the release 17th of June, access to eBudbok and some related reports will be removed from the DI platform. This change is part of the planned retirement of eBudbok and the consolidation of delivery operations within Buddy.
What will be removed?
Application Access
The following eBudbok access points will be removed:
eBudbok from the Select Application menu
Reports
The following reports will no longer be available:
Delivery app (Ebudbok)
Printout EDG (Utskrift ebudbok)
EDG archive (Historisk Ebudbok)
Alternative Reporting
For historical delivery information previously available through Printout EDG, users can use the Printout Delivery App report. This report serves as an archive of the information that was displayed in Buddy and can be used for historical reference and documentation purposes.
Using Buddy on Desktop Devices
Buddy is designed and optimized as a mobile application and is intended to be used primarily on smartphones and tablets. This allows distributors to access the tools and information they need while working in the field, with a user experience tailored for mobile workflows.
For users who need desktop access, Buddy can also be installed on certain devices. Users with a Chromebook can install and run the Buddy app, and users with newer Apple Silicon MacBooks (M3 processors or newer) may also be able to install the mobile app directly from the App Store.
Why is this change being made?
The retirement of eBudbok has been communicated for a long time, and Buddy has been established as the primary delivery application. While we understand that this represents a change in workflow for some users, this release marks the final step in the planned transition to Buddy as the single delivery platform.
Extensive migration and transition projects have been completed together with the distribution companies, and all planned activities related to the eBudbok phase-out have now been concluded.
We appreciate your cooperation as we continue modernizing our delivery platform.
