Replace Order API: Enhanced flexibility

DATE:
AUTHOR: The Distribution Innovation team

Release date: 17.06.2026

The system now allows for the replacement or cancellation of orders even after a parcel has been scanned or is in transit. Previously, these actions were restricted once a parcel moved beyond the initial booking stage. This update enables more efficient handling of delivery exceptions by allowing orders to be redirected or updated after they have left the terminal.

  • What changed: The restrictions on the Replace Order and Cancel Order APIs have been updated. It is now possible to modify orders for parcels in various active states, such as "In transit," "Ready for pick-up," or "Delivered at service point."

  • Who it affects: Operations teams and integrators who need to manage delivery redirects or handle failed delivery attempts.

Why it matters: This ensures that parcels can be efficiently managed throughout the delivery lifecycle. If a delivery to a specific destination cannot be completed, the order can be updated or converted to a different service, preventing parcels from being stuck in the system and improving overall delivery success.
