Cargostream scan and alias APIs

User story

As a carrier handeling parcel volumes l need a sorting machine to reach the efficiency, quality and cost-target i desire as the volumes rise.

Background

DI's scanner solution Cargostream is designed with an administration interface where the customer can define their desired sorting setup and functionality, with the major benefit that this can be done based on the structures defined in DI distribution and DI ServicePoint.

With rising parcel volumes the operators need more automated equipment, like sorting machines. To enable use the benefits of Cargostream with sorting machines (or similar equipment) we will develop APIs that can be used for integration.

Deliveries

• API to get the alias for a parcel, used before the parcel is scanned at sorting machine so that the sorting machine know which alias to give

• API to registrer a parcel as scanned, used after the parcel is scanned at sorting machine to registrer this information in DI and trigger desired functionality (e.g activation to EDG/Buddy)

• API to change weight and size of an already booked parcel, used after the parcel has arrived in the value chain and is measured

The APIs make all the current Cargostream sorting possibilities and functionality available for use, without using the Cargostream interface. The respons and actions triggered is based on setup for the Cargostream station specified in the request.
