More flexible route segmentation

As a route planner
I want to be define to set start points for my route segments
So that I can adapt segments to the parcel volume

As a route planner
I want to be able to efficiently plan my segments, either by user-defined segments or calculated segments
So that I can create segments that fit my needs for segments

Background

The current solution for the route segmentation is not as dynamic as desired. The delivery modules are equally and sequentially divided into the number of segments defined for a route, so all segments will have the same number of modules.

Some areas on the routes have higher parcel volume than others, and therefore the distribution companies have the need to be more dynamic and need the ability to decide where route segments should start based on their knowledge of parcel volume.

Deliverables

• Improve general userfriendliness of the segmentation functionality by moving it to side menu in station and design

• Create additional way of segmenting routes by using start points set in DI Main by the distribution companies

Timeline

• This is planned to be implemented during Q3 2023
